Test preparations
Ultrasounds
Performed in our office to conduct vascular studies, as well as to
provide a close look at internal organs such as the liver, gallbladder,
pancreas, aorta, kidneys and spleen. Ultrasounds include:
Abdominal Ultrasound (for abdominal pain):
Complete Scan (CPT 76700)
Includes the following: liver, gallbladder, pancreas, aorta, kidneys,
and spleen. NPO 6 Hours
Limited scan (CPT 76705)
Includes the following: Epigastric pain, RUQ pain, LLQ pain, RLQ pain,
LUQ pain, or 1-2 organs. NPO 6 Hours.
Pelvic Ultrasound:
Transabdominal (CPT 76856)
Patient must have a full bladder (40 ounces of water or fruit juice, no
carbonated drinks or caffeine)
Transvaginal (CPT 76830)
Patient must have an empty bladder.
Other Ultrasounds:
Renal Ultrasound (CPT 76775)
NPO 6 hours
Bladder Ultrasound (CPT 76999)
Patient must have a full bladder.
Thyroid (CPT 76536)/Testicles (CPT 76870)
No prep required.
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) Testing
Determines your minimal caloric requirements to help you lose weight.
BMR Test
Avoid strenuous exercise, caffeine consumption, and tobacco products
prior to test. NPO 4 Hours
